Once again the forecast was correct.

So we left the village of the damned (Gretna Green) in reasonable weather, and covered the miles quite quickly, had the obligatory coke and kitkat stop at a Gulf petrol station, then a lunch stop at Sanquhar, once we left our lunch stop we had to endure miles and miles and miles of hills, pissing rain and wind, bearing in mind that this is the height of summer I’ve seen better weather in mid January.

Arrived in Mauchline which is our night stop only to discover that Google had lied about the location of our accommodation and the Stair Inn is not in Mauchline it is in fact in Stair which was 5 miles away directly into the wind and rain, had a bit of a sense of humour failure, luckily it’s a really nice pub/hotel with a really hot shower and they offered to dry all our soaking cycling gear.

Bruce.

Dumfries.

Coke and kitkat stop.

Balancing act.

Only 5 more miles till we can stop.

Today’s route profile. Rachel muttered the “f” word several times.
